Cut video online

Need 40 seconds out of a 90-minute video? Paste the link, drag the two handles to the part you want, and download just that clip. You do not have to download the whole video first — that is the entire point of this tool.

Works with public and direct video links.

How to use it

  1. Paste the video link and press Analyze Video.
  2. Choose Create Clip.
  3. Set the start and end time — drag the handles or type the timestamps.
  4. Pick Fast Clip for speed, or Precise Clip for an exact frame.
  5. Press Create Clip, then download the result.

Features

No full download needed

When the source supports it, we fetch only the part of the file we actually need. A 40-second clip from a two-hour video transfers roughly 40 seconds of data, not two hours.

Original quality preserved

Wherever the codecs allow it we copy the video stream instead of re-encoding it. That means no generation loss, no blurring, and a result that finishes in seconds.

Fast clip or precise clip

Fast clip copies the streams and lands on the nearest keyframe — usually within a second, and instant. Precise clip re-encodes the boundary so the cut is exactly where you put it.

Built for phones

Large touch targets, a timeline you can actually drag with a thumb, and a sticky action button. Works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android without an app.

How it works technically

The clip is produced by seeking on the input side before decoding starts. For a progressive MP4 that becomes an HTTP range request, for HLS it becomes a jump to the segments covering your window, and for a local file it is a plain seek. Fast clip then uses -c copy so nothing is decoded at all; precise clip starts decoding a few seconds early and trims on the output side so the first frame is exact.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download the whole video first?

No, and that is what makes this different. When the source supports range requests or is served as segments, we fetch only the portion covering your selection. On sources that do not support it we fall back to reading what we need and nothing more.

Why is my cut a second off in fast mode?

Fast clip never re-encodes, so it can only start on a keyframe — these usually sit one to ten seconds apart. Choose Precise Clip when you need the exact frame; it costs a little processing time.

How long can the clip be?

Clips are limited to keep the free service fast for everyone. The current limit is shown on the clip screen while you drag the handles.

What happens to my file after processing?

It is deleted automatically. Your result is stored in a temporary folder for a short window so you can download it, then removed permanently along with any intermediate files. We do not publish, index, share or keep your media, and we never use it to train AI models.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Everything runs in your browser and on our servers, so it works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone. There is no app to install and no account to create.

Can I process any video I find online?

Only content you own or are otherwise permitted to process. The service works with publicly accessible links and does not bypass DRM, paywalls, sign-in or any other access control. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you submit.
